Q and R Street Clean-Up - March

It appears we have a new event in the works. Ashley Allen has come forward with the idea of cleaning up Q and R Streets starting at Rhode Island Avenue working toward 1st Street, ending at Big Bear Cafe.

By popular demand I have created this blog to keep track of community service events in our area. I plan to host events like the M Street Clean-Up regularly and will keep an eye out for other events that might be of interest. I will still use USAservice.org to list my events and track rsvp's but I hope this will become a common "meeting place" and I need your help getting this started.

I have started a list of events that I have found. Some are in the area and some are not, but all are worth checking out. If you learn of an event or stumble onto a website about volunteering, please email me. I will keep this blog as up-to-date as humanly possible.

Any and all suggestions are welcome!

M Street Clean-Up - January 19, 2009

The M Street Clean-Up was a great success. The event listing can be viewed here: http://www.usaservice.org/page/event/detail/4v2jq.

There was such a great turn-out that we were able to clean-up L, M, and N Streets between 11th Street and 4th Street. I expected about 10 people and about 40 of you showed!

I caught wind of team names: Obama, Biden, and Get R' Done. Am I missing any?

Please send any suggestions on how to better this event in the future.
